Turn on Wi-Fi automatically when you get home (Android)

Make your Android phone switch Wi-Fi on when you arrive home and off when you leave, with a free automation app. Step-by-step, no coding.

Why automate Wi-Fi

Leaving Wi-Fi on all day drains battery while your phone keeps scanning for networks. Turning it off means you forget to turn it back on at home and burn through mobile data. A location-based flow fixes both: Wi-Fi turns on when you arrive and off when you leave.

The quick way: describe it

Open AnyFlow, tap New flow and type:

“When I get home, turn on Wi-Fi. When I leave, turn it off.”

AnyFlow builds two triggers (arrive at Home and leave Home) with the matching actions, and asks you where “Home” is. Check the flow, then tap Save & turn on.

Build it step by step

  1. Tap New flow and pick the trigger Arrive at a place.
  2. Set the place: paste a Google Maps link, type an address, or enter coordinates. A radius of 100–150 m works well.
  3. Add the action Wi-Fi → On.
  4. Save, then create a second flow with Leave a place and Wi-Fi → Off.

Permissions it needs

  • Location — Allow all the time, so the trigger works with the app closed.
  • Accessibility: Android doesn't let apps switch Wi-Fi directly, so AnyFlow uses the quick-settings panel. The phone needs to be unlocked at that moment.

AnyFlow checks these when you save and shows a button for anything missing.

Make it smarter

  • Also turn on Bluetooth when you leave, for your car or earbuds.
  • Send yourself a notification instead of toggling, if you prefer to tap it yourself.
  • Add a condition so it only runs on weekdays.

Try it yourself. AnyFlow is free, with no sign-up. Get AnyFlow or read the docs.
